• I had several older guards that are made just like this but lack the flocking on the inside. They are a little stiff and hard to put on and take off the knife. The flock/felt lining on this does the opposite direction. Very easy to put on and very easy to slide off, even when you don't want it too. Not that it just falls off, but it can slide off part of the blade when in the drawer and getting knocked around or if you are taking the knife along to use elsewhere you might want to wrap a rubber band around it.
• Nice, but next time I think I will stick to the unflocked versions. They don't mar the blade or cause any issues with the steel.

• I highly recommend anyone who purchased an expensive knife to buy a blade guard to protect it. This one is easy to attach and rugged. It protects the blade from any other piece of silverware, etc., in the same drawer as the slicer, and protects individuals from getting cut as they go in and out of drawers.
